Many childhood friendships don’t last because people grow apart or move to different places, among many other reasons. College sometimes separates people and after college, many responsibilities follow (for example work and starting a family). If you like to keep your friends around forever it’s important to be honest, compromise after an argument and be kind and compassionate. These two friends have the goal to not give up on their long friendship and grow old together in a small village built by themselves.
Four couples, who have been friends for twenty years, couldn’t see each other as often as they’d like and thought of a way to live closer together. Because living environmentally aware was their number one priority, they decided to put all of their money together and built their own small village outside of Austin, Texas.
Their main plan is to eventually retire to their own village. Matt Garcia designed the small houses cost-effectively and efficiently at the price of 40.000 dollars each. This includes a slanted roof, insulated windows, reflective walls and water barrels of 5.000 gallons.
Wouldn’t it be great to live that close to the people you’re closest to? Friendship is a wonderful thing but to keep it you must put in the effort. These four couples have definitely put the effort in to make sure they’ll be friends for a very very long time.
